Keoni's Top Week 10 Starts and Sits

We’ve reached double digit weeks on the season, and that means there is even less time until the fantasy football playoffs. Wins and losses become more and more important as people jockey for a coveted spot in the playoffs and even that crucial first week bye. I am here to help make sure you end up in the win column with these starts and sits of the week. Hopefully, over the course of this article it becomes the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Starts of the Week

QB

Jimmy Garoppolo: SF 49ers vs LAC Chargers

Jimmy G has been pretty consistent as of late with 4 games in a row with at least 2 passing touchdowns and 3 of those were over 250 yards. He has not finished outside of QB 14 in that span and has finished as high as QB 7 in week 7. He also has Christian McCaffrey who can help add yards after the catch if he dumps the ball off to him and why wouldn’t they do that. This is a dynamic offense coming off their bye week vs a vulnerable Chargers defense that is dealing with a few key injuries.

The Chargers rank 11th vs quarterbacks, but they have given up multiple touchdown games to quarterbacks in 5 out of their 8 games this season. There are too many good weapons on this San Francisco team to not score and put up numbers vs the Chargers. Jimmy G will be helped by his guys and may end up with his 2nd 300 yard game of the season.

RB

Jamaal Williams: DET Lions vs CHI Bears

Williams has been out touching D’Andre Swift since Swift came back in week 8 and he has always been a guy who gets used in the red zone. He has 8 touchdowns on the season and the way he has been getting into the endzone follows a balanced pattern. This week that pattern is then leaning towards him getting into the endzone twice which would be great for his fantasy numbers. It is a definite possibility against a Bears defense that has been gutted as of late due to the trade deadline. They rank 26th vs the run, have allowed a touchdown in each of the last 5 weeks and have allowed 10 on the season to running backs. I see Williams being the main back this week and until Swift is fully healthy, so the matchup and circumstances make this a must start week for him.

WR

Rondale Moore: ARI Cardinals vs LAR Rams

Marquise Brown is going to be out for at least a few more weeks, and Moore has taken advantage of his absence. He has two pretty good weeks as of late finishing as the WR 7 and 16 respectively. Moore has seen 8 targets and ten targets the past two weeks plus some ground work in week 8. He can fill in as a solid flex option this week against a bad Rams defense that ranks 23rd vs wide receivers. They have allowed over 150 yards to receivers in 5 out of 8 games and over 200 in 2 of them. In this divisional matchup, players are going to have to step up, and Moore can be that guy for Arizona.

TE

Cole Kmet: CHI Bears vs DET Lions

He has 3 touchdowns over the past two weeks and more importantly, Justin Fields has seemed to have found his groove as of late. The coaching staff has stopped hindering him as well. Kmet doesn’t get many yards and is technically touchdown dependent, but he might be like Robert Tonyan a few years ago and end up with a big stretch of games where he finds the endzone. They face the Lions this week who are ranked 29th vs the tight end and have allowed over 3.5 more fantasy points to the position compared to the league average. They have allowed 62.75 yards per game to tight ends and if Kmet continues his touchdown streak, that will likely be a TE 5 or better week for him.

Sits of the Week

QB

Kirk Cousins: MIN Vikings vs BUF Bills

Mr. “You like that” and the Vikings are off to a tremendous start at 7-1 but there have been times when they didn’t look like an almost perfect team. Last week, they faced a not great Commanders team who nearly beat them, if not for a major meltdown late in the game. Cousins has multiple touchdowns in the past three weeks but they face an angry Bills team that ranks 3rd against the quarterback position.

The Bills defense allows for nearly 4.5 fewer fantasy points to QBs compared to the league average and they have allowed more than 1 touchdown from QBs in only two games. They were from Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers. In half of their games, they have kept opposing quarterbacks to under 200 yards and that may very well happen again. He might have an ok game given he has Justin Jefferson and now T.J. Hockenson to throw to, but there should be other guys who can get you more points this week.

RB

Aaron Jones: GB Packers vs DAL Cowboys

I got burned a few weeks ago when I said to sit him and he got off like your studs are supposed to do. However, this week might be different since he is potentially injured which might impact the amount of snaps he gets even if he does play. If he does, he will likely share snaps with AJ DIllon like he did last week. In that week, he had 11 touches for under 50 yards.

They also face the Cowboys who are coming off their bye. They rank 10th vs the run this year and have allowed only 3 touchdowns on the year to running backs. They force turnovers and the Packers might be playing from behind pretty early which may force Aaron Rodgers to throw some wild passes that may or may not get picked off.

WR

Diontae Johnson: PIT Steelers vs NO Saints

While this guy hasn’t been as productive as we would have hoped this season, I’m sure he is still in people’s lineups from week to week. It also might be enticing to play him now that there are less mouths to feed on that offense with Chase Claypool being traded to the Bears. However, Johnson has consistently been a target guy, but he is not doing much with them.

Between drops and toe touches that are just barely on the line, his receptions are not where they want them to be. He is also only averaging only 49.25 total yards per game, which is just not enough. He also has a whopping 0 touchdowns which is ridiculous. They face the Saints who have given up a lot of yards to receivers this season, but George Pickens might be the greater benefactor in that regard.

TE

Gerald Everett: LAC Chargers vs SF 49ers

Gerald Everett has had an up and down season so far and he is coming off two decent games. However, those were both against fairly easy matchups against the Seahawks and the Falcons. This week is much tougher vs a great defense that is rested after their bye in the 49ers. They rank 9th vs opposing tight ends and have had only 1 game where a tight end found the endzone against them. They also have allowed an average of 36.25 yards per game to tight ends and have allowed only a single game over 100 yards. I don’t see Everett having a great performance this week and he will likely not find the endzone which is key for the tight end position.

I hope this advice serves you well and here’s to looking at you, kid. Good luck and stay dreamin’!
